Amo Leer

Year Round

The Amo Leer Education Program has been an ongoing project since 2010. The Amo Leer program will initiate workshops and activities with focus on equipping parents with skills to support children’s literacy development outside of school and in their homes. Workshops involve the WFISD bilingual staff engaging Hispanic families in Spanish/English reading events, as well as the promotion of reading resources within the Hispanic community. Books and activities packets will be provided for families to take home because we believe that putting books in the hands of children and families is crucial to educational development. This current 2025/2026 school year we are collaborating with  Zundy Elementary, Scotland Park Elementary, Brook Village Early Childhood Center and Southern Hills Elementary Schools.
